Get your fix at Flavour Flings
Located discreetly in the heartland area is this cosy little café named Flavour Flings. It has been serving the residents of Hougang for a little over a year now and the mastermind behind this outlet is none other than Shawn.
Being in the food and beverage business for nearly 10 years, Shawn always wants a café of his own to express his passion and love for food. “I just want my guest to feel at ease and relaxed while enjoying good food” Shawn said as he was sharing his dream come true. He is so experienced in this industry that he handles every detail from the kitchen, service flow and even menu design, ensuring everything done has his approval.
A former competitive bowler back in the day when he was in secondary school, he appreciates athletes and understands the pain they go through to perfect the art in every sport. “I wish I still had time to train and compete but I do bowl once in awhile for fun!” he said as he reminisced about the past.
Prior to his Diploma in Sport and Leisure Management in Republic Polytechnic, Shawn had no knowledge of any para-sport, even during his course, he only knew of its existence and nothing more. Even today, there has not been much coverage of it up until the recent few months as we close in to the ASEAN Para Games. People today are more aware of its existence but yet they do not have the chance to find out more because the opportunity to watch the game or read about it in the news is still far and few between. “I want to show my support for these athletes through my passion for food as I understand their pain and I hope this small discount can fuel their passion as well to do us proud!”
Shawn will definitely be down to support our athletes during the games this December, and when asked which sport of preference, “bowling for sure!” he chuckled. Dis.Is.Able would like to thank Flavour Flings for their support and together we will be cheering on Team Singapore!
